Mr. Cameron Turner Obituary

Cameron A. Turner was born on November 27, 2000 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lorita Hiter and Anthony Turner Sr. He was undeniably loved and raised by his mother Lorita Hiter and Derrick Johnson. He was also loved and adored by Lamont Wells to whom a heartfelt thank you goes to for caring for him one last time. Cameron was affectionately known to most as Cam or Cam Cam in his earlier years. He was a natural athlete and an overall great guy, with a gorgeous smile! Cameron played different sports throughout his years with various schools he attended and leagues including baseball in the beginning for Douglas Little League under the leader of his mentor, the late Cecil Sinkfeld. Cameron also played basketball and football for many years. He played for the different schools he attended and for different AAU league teams. He was even playing 7v7 foortball on Team G.U.T.S. under the guidance and leadership of Mr. Melvin (Coach Scrapp) Tunstill. Cameron graduated from Thomas Carr High School June 2019. Upon graduation he accepted a football scholarship for and attended Cincinnati Christian University in the fall. After playing a few college games Cameron returned home. Cameron was raised to understand the value of giving back. He would voluntarily coach younger children, participate in volunteer programs, including the YES program. Cameron loved adventures and he loved sports! He would hang out with his cousin Durrel, Mike, and friend Riley. Either at the gym, at the park, or on the game he’s with one of them. While home Cameron received his CDL’s alongside his cousin and best friend Mike Jones. They started driving regionally for Jones Transport, LLC. Cameron was also thrilled (and would not quit, even through this pandemic) to had been working part time at United Skates West. Cameron A. Turner departed this earthly life on Saturday, November 14, 2020. He will be sorely missed by those who loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory mother Lorita Hiter and father Derrick Johnson; sister Ciara Morris and niece Carmyn Johnson; aunts Tierra Chester and Nikki Jones; uncles Cortez (Gina) Chester, Julian Chester, and Mike Jones; cousin and best friend Mike Jones; brothers Anthony Turner Jr. & Christopher Turner; nana Patrice Turner; god-parents Iris & Ken Lock and Chaz Hutchinson; and (where it all started) great-grandmother Glendora Barker Hill.
